Student Success Labs

Small, structured groups for students who are capable—but not consistently able to start, stay focused, or follow through.

These are not tutoring groups, and we don't do homework here. We focus on the underlying skills that make school manageable—planning, organization, focus, and emotional regulation.

Each lab targets a specific breakdown point so students can build real momentum instead of continuing to feel stuck.

Currently scheduling for: Grades 4–9

The Launch Lab

All students go to school wanting to be successful—knowing your strengths and the right strategies is transformational, seriously.

  • Focuses on the "cold start"—tackling the friction between thinking about work and actually doing it.

  • We learn how the brain handles tasks and practice setting small, actionable goals.

  • Each week, we test one "launch" strategy and reframe what success looks like so students feel empowered to keep trying.

  • Students build a Success Journal to track strategies they have tried, what worked, what they learned about themselves and a tangible reminder of the progress they built.

  • Best for: Students who feel overwhelmed, avoid starting, or feel stuck before they even begin.

  • Current Cohorts: Grades 4–6 and Grades 7–9

The Regulation Lab

Reasonable doesn’t mean easy. It means staying capable even when the work gets frustrating.

  • Focuses on the emotional side of life and the classroom—managing frustration, boredom, or anxiety that lead to shutdowns.

  • We practice one small "reset" strategy each week—like specific self-talk—to keep the thinking brain online when things get hard.

  • We reframe frustration as a normal part of the learning process, building the resilience to stay in the game.

  • Students document an "Emotional Toolkit" in their Success Notebook to discreetly manage stress in the classroom.

  • Best for: Students who shut down when confused, have a "short fuse" with homework, or feel easily defeated.

  • Current Cohorts: Grades 4–6 and Grades 7–9
